Brian Jones has been involved in strength and conditioning for over a decade. His formal education in the field includes a master's degree in exercise physiology and certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in exercise physiology at the University of Kentucky . However, Brian's experience is not limited to the classroom. He has also been a strength coach for professional, collegiate, and high school athletes from numerous sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, and martial arts. As a personal trainer he has helped a wide range of clients achieve their health, fitness, and performance goals.

Brian is a competitive martial artist with experience in Brazilian jiujitsu, judo, wrestling, boxing, and vale tudo. He has taught weight training, conditioning, BJJ, and self-defense courses at the college level and has often been an invited lecturer at NSCA conventions. Brian is also the author of The Complete Sandbag Training Course available from Ironmind, and The Fundamentals of Sandbag Training and Judo for Brazilian Jiujitsu instructional DVDs available from www.truthincombat.com .
